The Loft at Sennen/ December 20, 2019/ News

A year ago today, we had the phone call that told us we’d finally bought The Loft, although it wasn’t called The Loft back then.

We’d rented the apartment for six years, and after six years of imagining what we’d do if we owned it, and after eight months or headaches and hiccups in the buying process, we couldn’t quite believe we were lucky enough to call it ours.

There was lots of hard work last spring – we took out every window and replaced it, put in a new (hurricane-proof!) front door, installed new central heating, new floors, decorated throughout.  We bought new beds, linen, furniture, lights, sofas, new crockery and glasses.  There were plenty of surprises, as there always is with an old building like ours…  Unexpected visitors, including crafty local cats and handsome hounds.    But we’ve loved every minute and have made some fabulous friends along the way and some wonderful memories (that February without doors or windows will never be forgotten – sea breeze, anyone?!).

And we loved our first summer of welcoming guests and are delighted to see so many of them re-book for next year.  Thank you!

So now the tree’s up and we want to wish you the very best of Christmases, wherever you’re spending it, and a peaceful and happy New Year!
