The Loft at Sennen/ August 9, 2020/ News

We’ve been delighted to welcome guests back to The Loft this summer.   There’s been lots of stories in the press about how packed the Cornish beaches have been – and that clearly has been true in some places, judging by some of the pictures in the press – but we’ve found plenty of places where we had space and were well away from the crowds.  More posts on those to follow, but if you’re visiting us in the next few weeks and want some tips, drop us a line and we’ll point you in the right direction of some very special, secret spots.

We were lucky to get some stunning weather in July and August too, and a few of those days that seem peculiarly Cornish, where the sea-fog burns off mid-morning to reveal a scorcher.  Here’s a pic from last week, when we woke up to find ourselves literally up in the clouds…

Sea-mist clearing Sennen Cove

The Sennen Cove lifeboat has been busy too, so do check out our Insta for our footage of it springing into action on a beautiful summer day in late July.  As you can see above, we have the perfect view of the Lifeboat Station and by using the Maritime Traffic app, we can track where it goes once it’s out of view.    Everyone safe and home soon shortly after too – the best kind of ending.

Enjoy the summer…
